Artist Of The Month - Kay Hare
Kay Hare started painting in her teens exploring and experimenting with watercolours. She also uses the medium of oil so a piece can be worked on for months, if necessary. Kay believes that art is 'something that should not require explanations or lengthly descriptions, however if it stimulates conversation and, or even debate then something is present'. Her aim is to make her work uplifting and inspiring, and to have a life of its own that is personal to whoever is viewing it.
Kay likes to create something beautiful out of an accident. She says 'Sometimes mistakes happen but because of its longevity, like an alchemist, corrections can be dissolved and mistakes corrected. However, the best work is immediate, spontaneous and usually unplanned'. When referring to her own work, she say, 'My best work is always the last painting and the next painting is usually already in the process'.
