Living On The Edge

Living On The Edge

I have been living on the edge for many years and I can tell you that it is truly exhilarating and I recomend it highly! That's right, I have two countries, France and Italy, at my doorstep and we could say three, if we count Monaco down the road. These great countries are so rich in culture and there is no end of exciting opportunities to meet interesting people that either come to visit or live in this most beautiful region.

Everyone that comes to the area has a story and this is what drives The Riviera Woman, real people with real stories. We love the people we feature and we are inspired by everyone that we meet.

The Riviera Woman started out as a pipe dream back in 2007. Since our humble beginnings we have come a long way and made many changes. This October we are delighted to announce our relaunch, with a new fresh look and feel. What will never change though, is our integrity and desire to keep it real!

As part of the relaunch, we are delighted to welcome Julia Moore as contributing editor. Julia is no stranger to The Riviera Woman and we now look forward to seeing and hearing from her more. I have known Julia for quite some time and I am so chuffed to have her on board.

Living on the edge has given me life experiences way above my wildest dreams. I have met people from all over the world and the common denominator being, we all want to be here and live the dream. Yet, I still hear people saying, 'When I go back home...' and it was this that gave me the inspiration to create the first Talk About Town Live Debate titled: 'Where do you call home?'... We will ask the questions: Do you feel at home in your chosen land? What drove you to set up home in a foreign land? Sun, Lifestyle, Love, or a need for adventure? We talk to local people who are in touch with expats and to those who have returned to their homeland after years living away. I hope you will join the debate and tell me 'Where do you call home?' Then, I will let you know my reply too.

We are so lucky living here, even if it is on the edge... but honestly, really, we are very lucky indeed. The Riviera Woman wants to do more, and will join forces with organisations that believe that we can all do something to help others less fortunate. Thank you to Anne Batt for telling me about a wonderful initiative to help vulnerable women. One small thing will go a long way. More details in our article The Knicker Box.

In the meantime, I can't thank you enough for your ongoing support of The Riviera Woman and hope that it will continue and we will do our utmost to do our best to please you too.
