Last But Not Least...

Last But Not Least...

I always find December a bit of a strange month. It may be the last month of the year but for me it is also the gateway to a brand new, untarnished new year, full of hope and promise. As we go through this month I subconsciously find myself making plans, refreshing ideas and quite happy to store away the memories of the year gone by and put my energy into focusing on new dreams. How exciting is that!

I cannot, however, close the door on 2015 without saying a big thank you to everyone for supporting The Riviera Woman, for giving me inspiration and the motivation to do the best I can. I am human and I have my bad days too but these are made better by the warm and happy words of encouragement that I receive. Thank you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart...

Did you know that December gets its name from the Latin word decem (meaning ten)? December was originally the tenth month of the year in the Roman calendar, which began in March. The winter days following December were not included as part of any month. Later, the months of January and February were created out of the monthless period and added to the beginning of the calendar, but December retained its name.

Also depending on where you are in the world, December is either the first month of winter or the first month of summer. For those who love the sunshine should perhaps live 6 months in the Northern Hemisphere and the rest of the year in Southern parts... Now there's a thought!

But really it doesn't matter where you live... what is important are those around you, the people that give you purpose and allow you to be who you are. Nothing can be more precious than that. A simple and genuine smile is the best Christmas gift I could ever have.

Wishing a wonderful December!

We have a bumper month. Great features and articles and a very special competition.
