It is the Chinese Near Year and the year of the dragon. The Dragon is a symbol of good fortune and intense power in Eastern culture. In Chinese tradition, the Dragon is regarded as a divine beast.

It is said that those born under the sign of the Dragon are regarded as innovative, passionate people who are colourful, confident and fearless.

They make good talk-show hosts, artists, diplomats, priests and politicians. Invite a dragon to a party. Just make sure you have a fire extinguisher on hand.

There are five Chinese elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. The Dragon is made of Earth, Water and Wood. The Chinese New Year 2012 will primarily be a water year. This could mean riches and abundance or it could mean natural disaster.

Famous people born in the Year Of The Dragon:
Al Pacino, Bruce Lee, Courtney Cox, Diana Krall, Fats Domino, Joan of Arc, John Lennon, Keanu Reeves, Liam Neeson, Martin Sheen, Nicolas Cage, Raquel Welch, Russell Crowe, Sandra Bullock, and Shirley Temple.
