Jean-Louis Masurel from SBM accompanied by the Italian singer Gianni Morandi and several Monegasque children, launched their traditional illumination ceremony marking the beginning of the Christmas holiday celebrations in the Principality.

On Saturday 8th December the Casino Square in Monte-Carlo was transformed into an enchanted forest of 80 snow-covered white fir trees, decorated with 2,500 Christmas baubals, 600 starflash lamps, garlands and several projectors that alternate in a rainbow of colours that go from white to green to blue to fuchsia.

Loyal to their “be green” attitude the SBM group used an economical illumination system to save energy and the Christmas balls come from the Centre Ary-France that employs handicapped personnel. The ceremony was followed by a Cocktail in the Atrium of the Casino.
