MUSIC AND ROSES FOR ST VALENTINE'S DAY AT THE SALLE GARNIER IN MONTE-CARLO

Conductor Alexander Shelley

The young gifted conductor Alexander Shelley, born in the UK into a family of musicians, directed the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra for the St Valentine's Day concert in the Salle Garnier, with musicians wearing red roses in their lapels and their instruments.

The romantic program included Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet, Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, Richard Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, with the participation of young Italian opera singers: soprano Sandra Pastrana and tenor David Giusti.
