HSH Prince Albert and HSH Princess Caroline with Agnes Varda and her children Mathie and Rosalie and Serge Tubiano of the Cinemateque Francaise

The Cinemateque Francaise in partnership with the Franco-American Cultural Association and the Monaco Audiovisual Archives presented the projection at the Grimaldi Forum of the recently restored and digitized 1963 French film The Bay of Angels by Jacques Demy, a vibrant comedy about love and luck.  HSH Prince Albert and HSH Princess Caroline were present at the projection together with Jacques Demy’s wife Agnes Varda, their son French actor, director and producer Mathieu Demy, their daughter costume designer Rosalie Varda-Demy.

This first edition of the digital version of this movie with beautiful images of the Principality was screened in avant premiere in Monaco and will later be shown in Paris and Los Angeles.  The restoration of this film is part of a larger event about Jacques Demy in the form of an exhibition by the French Cinemateque that will take place from April 10 through August 2013.
