At a recent exhibition in Monaco, the 8th edition of Ever Monaco featured electric powered vehicles. From E-bikes, and scooters to sport fancy electrical cars were being displayed. Mercedes Benz brought their metallic blue prototype 2-passenger SLS AMG Coupe with butterfly doors that is today the fastest electrical car reaching a maximum speed of 250 km per hour, with an battery autonomy of 250 km. They will start construction in June of this year, with a ticket price of around €420,000.

The Monegasque company Venturi exposes their high-riding sports car America a zero-emission crossover designed for adventure, as well as the vehicles used in their Global Challenges in different continents like Asia and Africa and their upcoming mission in Antarctica. Their objective is to test the reliability, the energy efficiency and the robustness of the Venture electrical cars under extreme conditions.

The manufacturers have done their job in developing ecological cars, now it is up to the communities to set up recharging centres following the example of the Principality that has already installed 450 free refilling terminals mostly in their public parking. Under the impulse of Prince Albert II, Monaco has taken the challenge to attain zero CO2 emission by 2050.
