Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka

The biggest upset of round three of the Rolex Masters in Monte-Carlo was the defeat of British Andy Murray (2) in two straight sets to Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka (13) who played his best tennis ever. Murray declared after the match « I need to do a lot of work. »  Another unexpected exit is that of Argentine Martin del Potro (5) in the hands of Finnish Jarkko Nieminen in three sets. Number 1 Novak Djokovic from Serbia did not have it easy against Argentine Juan Monaco, but came up from behind and ended up winning in three sets. While Spaniard Rafael Nadal (3), French Jo-Wilfred Tsonga (6) and compatriot Richard Gasquet both had easy wins in two sets and passed to the quarterfinals. Italian Fabio Fognini had the biggest win of his career by eliminating Czech Tomas Berdych (4) in two sets, while Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov defeated Florian Mayer from Germany.

The quarterfinals of the Men’s Singles program we have:

N. Djokovic vs. J. Nieminen
F. Fognini vs. R. Gasquet
