The Winners, Jury and Organisers
The 5th edition of GemlucArt, under the theme “13, lucky number”, opened its doors at the Auditorium Rainier III last week with a total of 93 entries by artists mostly from France but also from other countries in Europe but also Iran, Brazil, USA and Australia. Gemluc (Group of Monegasque companies for the fight against cancer) is a charity association presided by Dr. Beatrice Brych, with HRH Princess of Hanover as their Honorary President. Since its creation in 1973 they have raised over 2 million Euros utilised in medical research and assistance to sufferers.
The award ceremony ftook place on Thursday, November 13 at the Auditorium Rainier III in the presence of distinguished members of the Jury, the artists, their friends and art lovers who came to support them in large numbers. Accompanying the jury was Valerie Penven, curator of the exhibition, Dr Beatrice Brych, President of Gemluc, Andriano Ribolzi owner of the art gallery that carries his name, Guillaume Barclay (Vice-President of the Jury), and Laurence Garbatini from Stratege Communication in charge of the organization of GemlucArt.
Before the ceremony, Laurence Garbatini called on the artists present to say a few words revealing their inspiration behind their works of art, an initiative highly appreciated by the public. (See photos of art pieces by Mirabelle-Top Right, Yvon Kergal-Bottom Left and Elizabeth Wessel-Left.)
The Grand Prix gemlucArt went to Bernard Garo from Switzerland for his work “Friday 13 (or after the downpour)”, made of mixed techiniques on flax (asphalt, sand, latex) – 110 x 110 x 5 cm. Garo was granted 15 days of exhibition in the Adriano Ribolzi Art Gallery in the Principality.
The Jury’s Prize was awarded to Martin Caminiti from France for “Kinematic Drawing 13”, Indian ink on paperboard – 100 x 70 cm. The Prize consists 15 days of exhibition in a Galery in Mougins.
The Public Prize was given to Michel Emmanuel from France for his sculpture in bronze and iron entitled “Soho” – 160 x 55 x 70 cm. The artist will be able to do 2 exhibitions in international art fairs with Gallery Monteoliveto of Nice.
And last but not least it was Hallie Hart from the USA who received the Special Jury’s prize for her “Tree of life” in acrylic on fabric – 150 x 150cm. The American artist was granted the printing of a personal e-catalogue of 22 pages.

Dr. Beatrice Brych unveiled the theme for the next exhibition in 2014 as “She and Him”, a truly inspirational title that will surely attract the participation of a plethora artists the world over.
