Roberta Gandolfi started painting at the age of 13. She attended art school where her passion for drawing and painting grew. But it was during earlier years that Roberta gained experience painting on cloth specialising in the decorating kitchen aprons which her grandmother sold to friends. With the money she was able to buy new colours and other materials.
Roberta began painting on surfaces such as slate, wood, cloth and the walls of the house - so much so that her family learnt to live with the aroma from the paints.
As a result of the work she did on her house, she received commissions, and in more recent years she has done ​​several trompe l'oeil in both private homes and in shops. Roberta also enjoys painting scenes of the historic centre of Genoa, the town she loves very much.
