GenderHopes, Monaco-based association, will host the first Monaco screening of the documentary film Miss Representation on Monday 6th October 2014, at 7PM at Star Deck (above Stars’n’Bars). TICKETS are €20 and include a drink (soft, beer, wine) after the movie. Tickets are available for advance purchase, please email Vibeke@genderhopes.org or at the door.

The evening is hosted by GenderHopes, Monaco-based association, which works to end gender-based violence and discrimination. Following the screening, there will be a panel and discussion.

Premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, Miss Representation is written and directed by Jennifer Siebel Newsom. The documentary exposes how mainstream media contribute to the under-representation of women in positions of power and influence in America. The film challenges the media's limited and often disparaging portrayals of women and girls, which make it difficult for women to achieve leadership positions and for the average woman to feel powerful.
