The word recession, can conjour up fears and thoughts of negativity, particularily in an age when we want it because we could have it. Now that the availability of credit has been snatched away from many who believed they could live their lives well outside their means have come to a sharp and rude awakening. It is still the culture to want what we really do not need. And now, it is certainly a good time to invest in a good thinking cap and to re-channel our efforts on creating new money where the old no longer exists or has been lost.

I have always believed that the role of the woman in the work place has not really come into its own. In different countries throughout the world, the female status varies either due to culture or political correctness. One should not have to justify ones gender when in the work place but ones competence, surely ?

As it stands, with debts rising in many family households and the loss of jobs is increasing, women are now in a wonderful opportunity to stop their barking and actually come forth and establish themselves in their own right. It is becoming very much on every womens agenda, to re-invent themselves. This usually strikes out as trouble in a male dominated household, in that it has a way of being seen as a threat between male and female relationship. It really does not have to be this way. Women are excellent at turning ideas into money making ventures and careers. They are driven by a need to have self worth, be that in the esteem sense or that of financial gain. Whichever it is, the road is certainly worth persuing.

Everyone wins, is what I believe. The feel good factor can and will pay bills.

A recent article I was listening to, on BBC Euope today, confirmed exactly what I have been saying. Britains Business Secretary, Lord Mandelson, says Women have a huge amount to contribute to business at top levels. There are barriers holding them back. This is wrong. It's not just for the women as individuals; it's unfair to the rest of us because our economies are losing out as a result." It makes practical sense to me. He also believes women could help economies out of the recession. And so do we. There are quite a few motivating organisations for women on the Riviera, contact me for further details.
