'Perfect' and 'Memorable' are definately words to describe and sum up the 'We are The World' Summer event, held in Mougins on Saturday night (11th July).

The International Club of the Riviera, founded by George Kasiliyake, put together an evening of good food, good wine, good music and excellent company. A turn out of about 65 representatives from different organisations, which proudly included The Riviera Woman, came together to celebrate a beautiful time together and at the same time, hundreds of euros were raised for the clubs chosen charity for the children suffering from aids in India. You can read more about it and send donations to Jill Pirdas. Such a little goes a long way to help.

The entertainment was by a Jazz group called The Pamela Daly Trio, which really complimented the evenings mood.

Food and wine were supplied by Fine Wine Works who then lead us to partake in a fun wine knowledge quiz which involved more wine tasting. It really was a hard evening! Helen and Nigel really know how to tease and to please. What fun!

Again, the focus was on coming together, having some fun and raising not only about €300 but feeling that as a world group, we can make a difference no matter how small. The Riviera International Singers certainly proved to be in fine tune. Their recent concerts which are dedicated to raising funds for local charties, gave a huge sum of €1,500 to Jill Pirdas's cause, as mentioned above.

More mingling and nibbling and drinking until we all turned out about 11.30 pm.
