On November 24th 2009 at Morrisons Lounge in Cannes it was men for sale, in aid of the FRABA charity for autistic children.

Man-tastic!! What an evening and all for charity. It really was an 'Ultimate Ladies Night'.

Two ladies, Julia Edgely and Rachel Kelly took time out of their busy schedules to put on an event that was dedicated solely to raising funds for a charity called FRABA. This is a charity that helps children with autism and other learning difficulties. Sophie Laurent is the wonderful lady behind the charity, and having spent time in the US and UK wants to open the first centre of its kind for the children in Biot.

The venue was cool, the music infectious and the crowd so generous. Ticket sales alone raised just over €2,000.

I was delighted to be there and see familiar faces and Riviera Women doing their bit by donating prizes for the raffle and Manathon... err, "What ia a manathon?" I hear you say. A Manathon is a man auction where women can bid money and win a man for a date. Julia and Rachel had their own idea on this one and each man came with a gift and the highest bidder was presented with the prize by the guy himself.

The auction and raffle took place in stages through the night and an incredible €4,300 was raised.

It doesn't stop there. For a centre to be open and run, a lot more money needs to be raised. You can contact Sophie Laurent by email and donate as much as you can: fraba@live.com

Here Sophie is seen helping 6 year old Lucas. In the few weeks of working with Lucas,
his mother Alexandra can already see great progress.
