Yves & Katia Lormant are hosting the second annual Soroptomist bridge tournament at the Blue Bridge Club in Le Cannet on Sunday 19 September at 15:00 Different to most other tournaments run in the region, scoring is done on a barometer basis. Normally one plays about 13 rounds of 2 boards each and then the results are collected and scored after the tournament to produce the results about 15 minutes after the end of the tournament. With a barometer, the boards are scored after each round and shown on a big notice board ( hence barometer ! ), so you can see how you are doing after each round and tension builds right up to the last round of 2 boards. There are great prizes on offer, not only for the top players - each pair is handicapped according to their FFB rating (from 4 Trefle right up to Division National 1 ) and so every pair has a chance of winning the Handicap Series of prizes as well as the Open Series. An 'apero' will be served at the and of the tournament. Please come along and join in - we can accommodate up to 30 tables - 20 euros per person table money. Proceeds to go to Alzheimer's support.
