Interview with Christina Collier

/EMBED/

This is what the English 'Daily Mail' newspaper said of Christina Collier "Into the spotlight steps Miss Christina Collier, with a voice of pure gold and a mane of hair to match".

Christina invited me to the perched village of Peillon, for a concert she was giving in her local church. For over an hour she sang, accompanied by friends and musicians on the harp, piano and horn. With such a beautiful setting, it was not surprising to see a church full with an appreciating audience.

Pianist  - Angela White
Harpist  - Magali Pyka da Coster
And the horn (not seen in this clip) - Izzy Wick.

I first met Christina at the Press Forum earlier in the year, with the promise of seeing her perform live. Speaking with Christina after her performance, I was greeted by a woman that proved that through her commitment and dedication, she could be one of the 'divas' we associate with opera.

Now based in the South of France, Christina has performed in shows across the world. From the West End to Broadway, a little of Christina magic has been sprinkled over those impressive stages. Performances include the musical Barnum with Michael Crawford and Eileen Battye, The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart and The Pirates of Penzance at Drury Lane, just to name a few.

My interview includes Christina's performance of  Schubert's 'Ave Maria'.
