After months of to-ing and fro-ing with messages on Facebook, I managed to arrange to meet Carol Drinkwater at the restaurant, Les Temps des Mets in Valbonne where she was preparing to speak at the Literary Lunch organised by Lin Wolff of The English Book Centre.

Carol Drinkwater oozed so much passion as she spoke to me about everything she has done, is doing and planning to do. Carol is an accomplished actress and writer. She found great public affection as her character 'Helen Herriot' in the BBC's charming series 'All Creatures Great and Small'.

Her books talk of her personal journey and how she found love and came to settle in the South of France amongst olive trees. Carol is involved with UNESCO to help set up an Olive Heritage Trail in the Mediterranean and she's now working on a documentary series inspired by her travels. She also dedicates her time to the protection of the honey bee. Living life to the full, I was absolutely enchanted at how this 'earth girl' as she described herself to me, embraces so passionately all that she does and it certainly is a case of 'the sky is the limit' and everything is possible where Carol Drinkwater is concerned.
