This is a budget-priced cocktail with a massive kick but few after-effects. It's a great way to unwind in company on a summer evening. The name was given because of the effect, which is like having part of your brain temporarily removed. But an hour or so later you're back to normal again.

Ingredients:

Vodka
Freshly squeezed orange juice
Lemonade or 7-Up
Campari

Method:

Pour a generous measure of vodka into a tall glass. And I really mean generous; perhaps a quarter-full. Add a similar amount of orange juice and top up to near the top with lemonade. Now add just enough Campari to give a good pink colour when stirred, and also to drown the sweet taste of the lemonade, but don't overdo it or the drink will be too bitter. Think of about half a teaspoon. Stir and add a quarter slice of orange and an ice cube before serving.
