The Riviera Woman is an online magazine aimed mainly at women. It registers several thousand clicks per week, mostly from educated, professional women living on the French or Italian Rivieras. This highly influential group with diverse backgrounds is attracted to our dynamic site as it stimulates their interests and meets their needs. This is your unique opportunity to reach this rapidly expanding market.
There are several places on this site in which we invite commercial messages. The first is the "Partners" sidebar panel on the right-hand side of the page. Here there is a space 200 pixels wide (max) by 400 to 600 deep in which we can carry your message, and which links to your website when clicked. Your message will be displayed on a random basis with those from other advertisers; every time a page is loaded one message will be drawn at random. We only have a limited number of spaces available so don't delay or someone else may take your place.
Similarly, there is a horizontal banner half-way down the front page, slightly smaller in area than the side banner, but the principle is the same.
The next location is the boxes on the lower part of the home page. This is something of a unique feature in the online marketing world. Each of these boxes carries a short message and a picture, but instead of linking directly to the advertiser's website it links to one or more pages on The Riviera Woman. These pages contain information provided by the advertiser and will usually use the format we have for news and other features, where the most recent six articles are displayed at the top and a random selection of older articles underneath.
There is no restriction on the number of articles you can create or what they can contain (subject to the usual truth, decency and privacy considerations). This means you can talk to your target market at any length you like, and they are a captive market because they came here looking for something interesting to read. Your challenge is to make your information sufficiently interesting for visitors to read it all and to want to return when you add another article.
On some pages of our site - for example the Calendar we have the opportunity to place small advertising boxes, in three different sizes. Up to four of these are visible at one time and are intended for messages that have some relevance to the section of the website.
Finally there is an opportunity to become a sponsor of our video Chatroom, generally the most prominent feature of The Riviera Woman and very popular with our readers. Every month we present a new Chatroom discussion and we invite potential sponsors to discuss with us a means to add their message. We can place a short acknowlegement into the video and we can badge the large image on our front page with your company logo.
The sidebar is always present, whereas the front page boxes are only visible when the user is on our front page. On the other hand, the user will perceive that to click in the sidebar will take her away from our site and onto yours. In many cases she will prefer to continue browsing our site rather than leave it.
The front page boxes lead to content on our site and the user will often be drawn to this because she's looking for something interesting to read. This will then give you the opportunity to introduce yourself more subtly and with greater effect.
The sidebar and horizontal banner adverts have a once-off design cost, then you leave them to do their job. For maximum effect the front-page box requires some effort in producing interesting content to place behind it, though every page carries your message and the user is already motivated to read it as long as it's interesting.
Each of these locations has its advantages but the process is different. If you choose the sidebar or banner the process is conventional; you get your design built and we add it to our site. For the front-page box we work with you to create pages of information that will enhance our site. We want you to talk about you and your business; its background and what makes it special. If your business is food, talk about food; where it's grown, what makes it special and why your products are so good. If you're in real estate, talk about the property market, about house construction styles and the different areas people like to live in around this region.
