A-May-zing Art!

Please 'LIKE' our new The Riviera Woman Page! Thank you.

We have dedicated our pages to the love of art and culture and a little bit of Sicily.

The Anna Fill Interviews took me firstly to Vence where I met Julie Hellon. Julie has recently become involved with an organisation called 'Kenyan Kids' to help orphaned children in Kenya have a better life. Julie has embraced a new culture and 'is making a difference'. The money she raises goes towards buying all those little things that we take for granted. More so she is able to be 'their friend'. My second interview took me to Mortola, on the Italian border. Nicole Durand is a true artist. She is a painter and sculptor, one of few female stone carvers in the world. I was so fascinated on what she had to say to me.

For our Chatroom we went to the Blue Bay Restaurant in St. Laurent du Var. A beautiful sunny day to have a chat about - The Law of Attraction.

The art world has some extraordinary female artists, all passionate and all with their own unique flair and style. This month in People and Places we feature Zinaida Likhacheva from the Ukraine who fuses art and fashion. Val Holland originally from Australia, took residence in St. Paul de Vence to paint. And during a trip to Taormina in Sicily, it was a pleasure to meet Polish born artist and sculptor Edyta Grzegorczyk. Her boutique was a delight to visit. Enjoy the short video.

The taste of Sicily dominates our Food and Wine pages. Traditional, tempting and tasty recipes to try at home and impress your friends and family.

Sicilian Cassata Cake, Pistachio Biscotti and Italian Focaccia

We feature two wines this month, which originate from Sicily. Deborah Sheffield chooses Planeta Chardonnay 2008, which is an icon for the whole of Sicily. And my treat from Sicily was the Almond Wine.

In our Features: Julia Frey continues her Amuse-Bouche with Fleas and friperies and Julia Moore wants you to value your hired help in, Can I do you know, Sir?

Astrologer Sarah Bartlett has the May Horoscopes, Career Expert Kate Cobb says Mind Your Language and Art Expert Matthew Moss talks about the attraction of Monaco to the art world in Monaco Mon Amour.

Health and Beauty looks at Hay Fever Havoc and Hair Care Tips for the Summer and in Fashion, we feature swimwear designer Sandra Domingo whose designs will be on the catwalk in Cannes with Hype Fashion. And from Lebanon, we talk to Haute Couture designer Brigitte Abi Daoud.

Congratulations to our Competition Winner  Pia from Monaco for winning the Full facial with Sandra Mac Leod

I was delighted to spend a little time in Sicily. It is a fascinating country, rich in history, culture and tradition. The people are friendly and want to share what they have and what they know. On my personal Facebook page, I shared a few of my favourite photos and I want to share one image in particular that took my breath away of Mount Etna.

I keep my feet on the Med and my head is beyond the clouds - Here I meet the trinity - 'Me, Myself and I'. This is the top of the volcano Mount Etna, Sicily. Mother Nature rules and she is truly invincible. ANNAxxx
