Welcome to The Riviera Woman

If you are new to The Riviera Woman we are pleased to welcome you. If you are an old friend then welcome back and we hope you like our new website design.

The Riviera Woman is fast approaching its fifth year of publication, during which time we've amassed over 1000 articles and features. We've had two previous design changes and the last one has served us well since June 2009. However, the world moves on and so have we.

First, some people are overwhelmed by the amount of content we have in our pages and don't know where to start. And second, it was getting difficult to find articles on the old site.

We dealt with both problems by using a "rolling news stream" format similar to that used by social media and blogging sites. Every new article goes at the top of the central column and gradually moves down as it's replaced by newer articles. The various sections that were previously in the menu bar at the top of the page are now all in the panel on the left.

The biggest gain is in being able to find things more easily. We now have a full text search; type anything into the box, click the binoculars and you'll get a list of every article with that word or phrase in it. The tags that are given with each article are also more useful; if you like an article you can use the tags at the bottom to find others on the same subject, by the same author or in the same section.
