Santo Spirito - A touch of nostalgia

Molini di Triora is one of many special villages nestled in the hills of the Argentina Valley in Liguria. Whilst visiting the village, a must is to enjoy a meal at the local Ristorante Santo Spirito with the warmest of welcomes. The restaurant is owned by the Zucchetto family and the traditions of generations gone by still continue today. The restaurant is steeped in history and one cannot help but become mesmerised with the old porcelain dishes to field tools, from the old gramophone to antique radios, pictures and documents that occupy walls and corners of the restaurant to remind us of it's humble beginnings.

There is one thing that will always stay the same..." says Mariachiara, owner of Santo Spirito "and that is all the wonderful, good and special flavours and recipes that we have inherited from my grandmother.

The cuisine at the Santo Spirito is as pure as it can be, vegetables are organic and grown on their very own land and as soon as they reach natural maturity they are then taken to the kitchen to be used. The passion for everything they do is what makes this restaurant so very special. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Whatever your palate and whatever your food principals are, Mariachiara's mission is to please. So whether you are a meat eater, vegetarian, vegan or even if you have any special dietary concerns such as with guten or lactose, you can guarantee that your needs will be met and Mariachiara will design a menu just for you.

Mariachiara is often called the 'terremoto' (eathquake) by the locals or “La Tornade blanche” by the French guests, for her incredible energy. She never stops for a minute and runs endlessly from table to table and as soon as she has a moment to herself, you will find Mariachiara digging on the allotment for a spot of relaxation!

"Being here after all this time with the same commitment, certainly means not having disregarded the hopes of our ancestors, but above all, we have taken care of your needs for one hundred and fifteen years ... Our longevity is mainly due to the pleasure we feel when we meet your expectations."
