It has been a tough couple of years for everyone in the world of business but life still goes on. Recessions can be positive and produce new business opportunites.

I was delighted to meet Karen Marsh at her office at the Sophia Antipolis Business Park. She really is a true inspiration and not just to women. With a fusion of determination and a good business model, the result is success.

She explained to me that after losing her job, the job that brought her to the Riviera, all those usual feelings of despair and lack of self worth gave way to a positive approach on how she could turn a disadvantage into what is a successful business model, where she helps other business's keep their costs down by using her administrative services. It is what I have always said, it is wonderful when minds can meet and where a viable service is of mutual benefit. In this case, Karen, who owns VBA International provides a service that helps small business's to keep their costs at bay and yet has the peace of mind by being re-assured that all the necessary administrative paperwork that can sometimes hinder one's direction, is kept in order.

It is very encouraging to see that the award has gone to a woman and in particular as women are a focal point as working structures and the roles women play in the work force are changing.

The Riviera Woman wishes to thank Karen Marsh for speaking to us and may she have continued success.
