Honoring Humanitarian Women

Spes Nihangaza at the JCI Conference.

On Friday, 8th March the Junior Economic Chamber International of Monaco (JCI) in cooperation with the World Association of Children’s Friends (AMADE Mondiale) and the Direction of International Cooperation of the Department of Foreign Relations, organized a dinner in the Salon Bellevue of the Hotel de Paris under the theme ”The role of Women in humanitarian associations “, in the presence of HRH Princess Caroline of Hanover. The invited speaker was the charismatic Madame Spes Nihangaza, elected Vice-laureate of the International Woman of the year 2010, President of FVS-AMADE Burundi, and Consul of Monaco in that country. This remarkable woman presented her formidable humanitarian projects in Burundi benefiting around 50.000 children and adults every year. The association she presides with passion and commitment contributes to improve, without any discrimination, the future development of the more vulnerable children based on traditional values of solidarity. She emphasized the need for a concerted effort to fight poverty and social exclusion to enable people to participate actively in the life and advancement of their community.
