No Finish Line in Monaco

By Celina Lafuente de Lavotha - Monaco Reporter

The No Finish Line Dance competition, organized on March 13, 2016, at the Auditorium Rainier III in Monaco, by the Monegasque association Children & Future, in collaboration with the center M.A.D. (Monaco Arts Dance) led by Stephane Lobono that attracted a large and enthusiastic public. In a festive ambiance this original dance contest welcomed almost 300 competitors right across the whole spectrum of styles and levels, coming from 16 schools, from Bouches du Rhone, Alpes-Maritimes, and the Var.

The No Finish Line Dance is the second grand annual event organized by Children & Future, together with the No Finish Line. The proceeds raised of Euro 12,000 will support the projects of the association in favor of underprivileged or sick children, like the financing of cardiac interventions at the Cardio-Thoracic Center or the purchase of school materials for failing children or very ill by the Monegasque National Education. Children & Future wants to thank their generous donors, notably: Cuomo Foundation, Niarchos Foundation, Sancta Devota and Mitchell.

This contest leaves freedom to choreographers where their artistic works was evaluated on each piece for the technique, but also creativity, musicality and scenic harmony in Jazz, Contemporary and Hip Hop. The ballets were made for the public and this contest was transformed in a show of several hours cheered by the fans from the different schools in competition. It culminated with the prize ceremony with the winners selected by a jury of two professionals, a member of Children & Future and a representative from the National Education, Youth and Sports of Monaco, under the enthusiastic applause of the public. A money certificate for Euro 200 was offered to the winners of the Jury Special Prize by casadansa.com and Capezio, a new dance store in the Principality.
